What You'll Learn

Managing and optimizing resources such as waste, water, and energy are at the core of sustainability. A waste management plan is an essential component of any successful sustainability strategy as it can help avoid the unnecessary misuse of resources, time, money, energy and space. By understanding the waste your organization produces, you are better positioned to reduce hauling costs and negotiate for the proper waste and recycling services needed. The Waste Management course will teach you strategies on how to implement and manage a waste management plan effectively and how to cut disposal costs that can help improve the overall bottom line of your organization.

Roughly 90% of materials extracted for U.S. consumption are sent to landfill or incinerated and producing plastic from plastic, as opposed to producing plastic from raw materials (oil and gas) saves energy by approximately 88%. Reusing and recycling conserve natural resources including trees, metals and water.

The Waste Management course is a vital part of Verdani’s Sustainability Course Series and provides industry best practices on waste segregation, zero waste, policy guidelines, reporting guidelines and more to create a waste management strategy that can reduce the impact of waste your organization or property has on the environment and ultimately help improve its bottom line.
