What You'll Learn

Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) has quickly become one of the most important factors for building occupants as it directly impacts the health and well-being of those working and living in the space. As part of Verdani’s Sustainability Course Series, the IEQ Course provides a strategic approach for how to implement an award-winning Indoor Environmental Quality program.

The course material covers actionable IEQ best practices, policy and reporting guidelines. The course will also train you on the requirements for various health and well-being certifications by organizations such as LEED, Fitwel and WELL.

IEQ assesses factors such as water, light, and other spatial elements to determine the quality of indoor environments. Air pollution is the number one environmental cause of premature mortality, contributing to 80,000 premature deaths annually in the United States. Poor indoor air quality has been linked to health and wellbeing issues such as asthma, eye and skin irritation, upper respiratory illnesses, headaches, fatigue and decreased productivity. Monitoring indoor air quality is crucial as new pollutants are introduced into a building daily.

This online sustainability course has been designed to provide you with the most important elements for analyzing, implementing and managing a successful Indoor Environmental Quality plan.
